A photochromic ophthalmic lens and a process for its preparation are disclosed. The lens comprises a substantially transparent substrate having a lenticular shape and, at least one film adhering to at least one surface of said substrate. The film contains a resinous blend of polycarbonate resin, and polycaprolactone and an effective amount of a photochromic dye selected preferably from a group consisting of spiropyrans, benzopyrans, naphthopyrans, spiroxazines, fulgides and fulgimides. In an additional embodiment the film contains a copoly(carbonate-lactone) block or random copolymer.
Lentille ophtalmique photochromique et son procédé de préparation. Cette lentille comprend un substrat pratiquement transparent présentant une forme lenticulaire et au moins une pellicule adhérant à au moins une surface dudit substrat. Cette pellicule contient une mélange résineux de résine de polycarbonate, ainsi que polycaprolactone et une quantité efficace d'un colorant photochromique sélectionné, de préférence, dans un groupe constitué par des spiropyranes, des benzopyranes, des naphtopyranes, des spiroxazines, des fulgides et des fulgimides. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, cette pellicule contient un copolymère statistique ou séquencé de copoly(carbonate-lactone).
