A liquid pigmented (meth)acrylate-functional photocurable coating composition adapted for the secondary coating of optical glass fiber is disclosed. This photocurable composition has a pigment content which is sufficient to provide a coloration which can be distinguished from other colors and in the absence of a significant excess of said pigment, the particles of the pigment have a size of less than about 1 micron, and an acyl phosphine oxide photoinitiator is used to obtain a rapid photocure despite the presence of the pigment, the composition's normal thickness used for optical fiber coating, and the fine particle size of the pigment.
