PHOTODECONTAMINATION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Decontamination may be effected by adding to a contaminant an additive which is capable of absorbing radiation of a predetermined frequency range. The resultant contaminant/additive system may be exposed to high-intensity radiation of the predetermined frequency range until decontamination is complete. The method is particularly adapted to the removal or neutralization of contaminants which do not strongly absorb radiation from readily available sources.
