The present invention relates to a photodynamic method of treating prostatic disorders such as BPH. The method comprises: administering a photosensitizer by direct injection to the prostate tissue of a subject afflicted with or suspected of being afflicted with a prostatic disorder; and irradiating the prostate tissue with energy at a wavelength appropriate to activate the photosensitizer, wherein a guidewire is utilized to position the injection device and the irradiation apparatus.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé photodynamique permettant de traiter des troubles prostatiques tels que l'hyperplasie prostatique bénigne. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste : à administrer, par injection directe, un photosensibilisant dans le tissu prostatique d'un sujet atteint ou susceptible d'être atteint d'un trouble prostatique ; et à irradier le tissu prostatique avec de l'énergie à une longueur d'onde propre à activer le photosensibilisant. L'on utilise un fil-guide pour positionner le dispositif d'injection et l'appareil d'irradiation.
