ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved wire anvil for a percussionignitable type flash lamp has projection means to deflect hot particles upon ignition. The projection means has openings permitting some of the hot primer particles to pass through for im- proved ignition of the principal combustible material contained in the lamp envelope. The wire anvil can be die-cast as an integral member utilizing commercially available zinc alloy materials.
