ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a novel process for the production of photographic images by the exposure and development of a light-sensitive photographic material containing at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer with an aromatic colour developer compound containing primary amino groups in the presence of an oxaxolinone-2 compound which is mono- substituted or disubstituted in the 4- and/or 5- position, by a substituent or substituents which does not or do not interfere with the coupling of the oxazolinone-2 ring with the oxidized colour developer and which does not or do not split off during the coupling reaction, the oxazolinone-2 being pre- sent in any of its tautomeric forms.
