A photographic printing apparatus including: a light source (13) for emitting light to an image frame (17a) of negative film (17); a printing lens (14) for adjusting the magnification of image transmission light passing through the negative film (17); a mirror unit (7a) composed of plural mutually confronting mirrors (20, 21 and 22) for inverting the optical path of the image transmission light; a rotation drive motor (23) for rotating the mirror (20) of the mirror unit (7a) for rotating the inverted optical path; an external input device for feeding print size data of every image frame (17a) of negative film from outside; and memory card for storing the input print size data of every image frame, and a photographic printing method is for printing the image rotated on the optical axis by a rotational angle determined by the stored print size data to a paper (18) by properly adjusting the magnification.
