ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A silver halide photographic sensitive material con- taining a dye comprising at least one merocyanine dye having at least two acid groups in which the basic nucleus is an oxazole nucleus and at least one of the 4- and 5- positions of the oxa- zole nucleus is substituted with an aryl group or a substituted aryl group in at least one hydrophilic colloid layer of the sil- ver halide photographic sensitive material, and a basic polymer in at least one hydrophilic colloid layer of the silver halide photographic sensitive material. The silver halide photographic sensitive material provides excellent filter effect, antihalation effect and so on without causing deterioration in photographic properties.
