Abstract of the Disclosure Photohardenable films containing a photoactivated free radical initiator are provided with an inhibitor system composed of a noninhibiting nitroso dimer with a dissociation constant of 10-2 to 10-10 in solution and a rate of dissociation to inhibiting nitroso species characterized by a half-life comparable with exposure times for polymerization. The optical density to initiating radiation for the film must be between 0.02 and 1.25. The developed films have high resolution after exposure at the proper energy density and time.
