Aqueous, storage-stable, non-sedimenting photoinitiator suspensions comprisinig (a) a mono- or bis-acylphosphine oxide of formula (I), wherein R1 is C1-C20alkyl; C2-C20alkyl interrupted by one or more O atoms; C1-C12alkoxy; phenyl-C1-C4alkyl; or phenyl that is unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C20alkyl, C1-C12alkoxy, halogen, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, C1-C12alkenyl, C2-C18alkyl interrupted by one or more O atoms, and/or by phenyl-C1-C4alkyl; or R1 is biphenylyl; R2 is an aromatic radical or has one of the meanings given for R1; R3 and R4 are each independently of the other C1-C12alkyl, C1-C12alkoxy or halogen; and R5 is hydrogen, C1-C12alkyl, C1-C12alkoxy or halogen; (b) a dispersant; and (c) water are suitable especially in the photopolymerisation of aqueous formulations comprising ethylenically unsaturated monomers.

L'invention concerne des suspensions aqueuses de photoamorceurs, stables lors de leur conservation, et ne provoquant pas de sédimentation. Les suspensions comprennent (a) un mono- ou bis-acylphosphine oxyde selon la formule (I). Dans cette dernière, R1 représente C1-C20alkyle; C2-C20alkyle interrompu par un ou plusieurs atomes d'O; C1-C12alcoxy; phényle-C1-C4alkyle; ou phényle qui n'est pas substitué ou substitué par C1-C20alkyle, C1-C12alcoxy, halogène, cyclopentyle, cyclohéxyle, C2-C12alkenyle, C2-C18alkyle interrompu par un ou plusieurs atomes d'O, et/o par phényle-C1-C4alkyle ou R1 est biphénylyle; R2 représente un radical aromatique ou présente une des significations données pour R1; R3 et R4 sont chacun indépendamment de l'autre C1-C12alkyle, C1-C12alcoxy ou halogène; et R5 représente hydrogène, C1-C12alkyle, C1-C12alcoxy ou halogène; (b) un dispersant;et (c) de l'eau . Ces suspensions sont particulièrement appropriées pour la photopolymérisation de formulations aqueuses à base de monomères non saturés en éthylène.
