A photonic switching method and a photonic switch utilizing same are disclosed. Input electrical signals Ea ? Ed input through plural input ports 21a ? 21d are converted into optical signals with the pulse intervals of these input electrical signals being unchangedly preserved. The converted optical signals are timing adjusted within the pulse interval and multiplexed in such a manner that these optical signals are not overlapped with each other on an axis of time. The resulting multiplexed optical signal L is transferred to each output ports 19a ? 19d, respectively. An optical signal, among the multiplexed optical signal L, which should be output at a target output port in each output ports 19a ~ 19d is separated by utilizing an opto-optical interactional function, for example, a four optical wave mixture.
