Abstract of the Disclosure Iodonium and sulfonium photoinitiators are naturally sensitive to only a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, particularly in the ultraviolet region. It would be desirable to extend the sensitivity of the photoinitiators to the visible region of the spectrum to enable more extensive use of the photoinitiators. Various classes of spectral sensitizing dyes for iodonium and sulfonium salts are disclosed herein.
