A photosensitive member for electrophoto- graphy, including an electroconductive substrate and a photosensitive layer disposed thereon, wherein the photosensitive layer comprises a triarylamine compound represented by the following general formula (I): Image (I), wherein Ar1 and Ar2 respectively denote a benzene ring capable of having a substituent; at least one of Ar1 and Ar2 has an electron-donating substituent; and R1 and R2 respectively denote a hydrogen atom, alkyl or alkoxyl.
