PHOTOSENSITIVE MICROCAPSULES CONTAINING PHOTOINHIBITOR PRECURSOR AND IMAGING MATERIAL EMPLOYING THE SAME Abstract An imaging system including photohardenable microcapsules wherein the microcapsules include a photoinitiator and a photoinhibitor precursor; the photoinhibitor precursor converts to a molecule which inhibits photohardening upon exposure to radiation of an appropriate wavelength or intensity; negative images are obtained by first image-wise exposing the system to convert the photoinhibitor precursor to the inhibitor form, then uniformly exposing the system to a radiation which is capable of hardening the microcapsules, and thereafter subjecting the microcapsules to a uniform rupturing force.
