Abstract Novel phthalic acid derivatives of the formula Image in which R1 and R2 independently of one another are alkoxy with 1-12 C ayoms or phenoxy or R1 and R2 together are the -O-group and R3 is alkyl with 2-7 C atoms, cycloalkyl with 5-7 C atoms or benzl, and process for their preparation. These compounds are used for the preparation of silicon-modified phthalic acid derivatives which are used as adhesion promoters.
