The present invention relates to the use a Phyllanthus extract or a fraction thereof or a gallotannin or a combination of gallontannins for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of retrovirus related diseases associated with a nucleosidic inhibitor-resistant retrovirus and/or a non-nucleosidic inhibitor-resistant retrovirus. Preferably, the retrovirus is a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In accordance with the present invention, it is further preferred that said gallotannin or combination of gallotannins is or comprises corilagin and/or geraniin and another ellagitannin. Further preferred is that said Phyllanthus is Phyllanthus amarus.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'un extrait ou d'une fraction de Phyllanthus ou d'une gallotanine ou d'une combinaison de gallotanines dans la préparation d'une composition pharmaceutique servant à prévenir ou à traiter des maladies à rétrovirus associées à un rétrovirus résistant aux inhibiteurs nucléosidiques et/ou à un rétrovirus résistant aux inhibiteurs non nucléosidiques. Le rétrovirus est, de préférence, un virus de l'immunodéficience humaine (VIH). Selon la présente invention, cette gallotanine ou combinaison de gallotanines est ou comprend, de préférence, une corilagine et/ou une géraniine et une autre ellagitanine. Ledit Phyllanthus est, de préférence, Phyllanthus amarus.
