ABSTRACT A group of new hypocholesteraemio and hypolipaemic agents of formula Image (1) (wherein R is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group or a 2-methyl- butyryloxy group) are produced by aerobic cultivation of a Penicillium strain, preferably Penicillium citrinum SANK 18767 (NRRL-8082). They can be used medically in the treatment of atherosclerosis and hyperlipaemia.
