A novel DNA is provided which encodes an enzyme having phytase activity isolated from Penicillium. Also provided for is a method of isolating DNA encoding an enzyme having phytase activity from organisms which possess such DNA, transformation of the DNA into a suitable host organism, expression of the transformed DNA and the use of the expressed phytase protein in feed as a supplement.
L'invention concerne un nouvel ADN codant pour une enzyme qui possède une activité phytase isolée à partir de Penicillium. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'isolation de l'ADN, codant pour ladite enzyme, à partir d'organismes possédant cet ADN, de transformation de l'ADN en un organisme hôte approprié, d'expression de l'ADN transformé, et d'utilisation de la protéine phytase dans la nourriture pour animaux sous forme d'un complément.
