ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Picnic tables and the benches used therewith are usually bulky structures, which are difficult to transport and equally difficult to store. A relatively simple solution to the problem includes a table defined by a top panel, which is usually wooden planks, a crossbar near each end of the bottom surface of the top panel with outwardly opening recesses in the ends of the crossbar for slidably receiving the ends of benches, whereby a bench can be slid fully under each side of the table, and pivotally mounted on the top panel near each end of the table between the crossbars for rotation to a collapsed position between such crossbars. The benches also include top panels and legs pivotally connected thereto for rotation to a flat collapsed position against the top panel. The spacing between the bench legs is such that the legs are located between the table crossbars when the benches are slid beneath the table.
