A mounting device for mounting a picture frame assembly on a wall, the mounting device including a mounting board having a substantially vertically arranged surface and at least one polycuboid extending substantially orthogonally from the vertically arranged surface, and a rail secured to the wall, wherein the at least one polycuboid is arranged to be interlockable with the rail in at least a first position, and the mounting board is arranged to be supported by the rail in a first orientation when the at least one polycuboid is interlocked with the rail in the first position.
