A retention tape retains a picture in a selected orientation and includes a tape member which includes a first adhesive layer on a first tape side and a second adhesive layer on a second tape side. An abrasive-containing layer is adhered to the first adhesive layer, and a non-adhesive release strip is adhered to the second adhesive layer. The abrasive-containing layer may include sandpaper material. The tape member, the abrasive-containing layer, and the release strip are in a form of an elongated structure rolled up in roll form. The tape member, the abrasive-containing layer, and the release strip also can be in a form of a cylindrical disk.
