A speaker device for emitting subsonic, sonic or ultrasonic compression waves comprising a generally hollow drum, a rigid emitter plate (108) attached to the drum (100), and a plurality of apertures (112) formed within the plate which are covered by a thin piezoelectric film disposed across the emitter plate (108). A pressure source is coupled to the drum (100) for developing a biasing pressure with respect to the thin film (104) at the apertures (112) to distend the film (104) into an arcuate emitter configuration capable of constricting and extending in response to variations in the applied electrical input at the piezoelectric film (104) to thereby create a compression wave in a surronding environment. Parametric ultrasonic frequency input is supplied to the piezoelectric film (104) to propagate multiple ultrasonic frequencies having a difference component corresponding to the desired subsonic, sonic or ultrasonic frequency range.
L'invention concerne un dispositif haut-parleur destiné à émettre des ondes de compression subsoniques, soniques ou ultrasoniques, comportant un tambour généralement creux, un panneau émetteur rigide (108) fixé au tambour (100), et une pluralité d'ouvertures (112) formées dans le panneau, couvertes par une fine couche piézo-électrique disposée au travers du panneau émetteur (108). Une source de pression est couplée au tambour (100) afin de développer une pression de polarisation par rapport à la couche mince (104) au niveau des ouvertures (112), pour gonfler la couche (104) dans une configuration d'émetteur arqué pouvant se rétracter et s'étendre en réponse aux variations du courant appliqué à la couche piézo-électrique (104), une onde de compression étant créée dans un environnement périphérique. Une fréquence ultrasonique paramétrique est appliquée à la couche piézo-électrique (104) afin de propager plusieurs fréquences ultrasoniques ayant une composante différant selon la gamme de fréquence subsonique, sonique ou ultrasonique souhaitée.
