This invention relates to the design of a device which is effective in preventing pigeons from perching on balcony railings. Presently available devices used for the purpose of scaring off pigeons consist of windmill type rotating devices, stuffed owl replicas, sticky material smeared on railings, strips of cloth that flap in the breeze and the like. All of the above mentioned are either marginally effective or ineffective and are subject to rapid deterioration by wind, weather and sunlight. The object of this invention is to provide a device of simple design, cost effective to manufacture, easily installed, weatherproof and durable that will prevent the birds from repeatedly perching on said railings and fowling apartment balconies. The inventive ideas this device embodies are: (1) the concept of a small diameter wire, drawn taunt, on which pigeons cannot perch, positioned above the railing in such a manner as to interfere with and prevent pigeons from perching on the balcony railing. -page 2- Said fine wire is suspended (3 - 3 1/2") above the balcony railing; supported by vertical supports <standoffs> located at discreet intervals along the railing. (2) the simple, cost effective and convenient method of fastening the wire supports <standoffs> to the railing without modifying, defacing or structurally comprising the railing member, i.e. drilling or welding.
