This invention relates to a new pigment in feed for salmonides, a new feed comprising this pigment and use of this pigment. The pigment comprises a diester of astaxanthin prepared with an omega-3 fatty acid and/or a short chain carboxylic acid. By this invention a pigment for feed to salmonides that is more stable and biologically more effective than free astaxanthin and commercially available astaxanthin products, is provided.
Cette invention concerne un nouveau pigment d'alimentation de salmonidés, un nouvel aliment contenant ce pigment, et l'utilisation dudit pigment. Le pigment de l'invention comprend un diester d'astaxanthine préparé avec un acide gras oméga 3 et/ou un acide carboxylique à chaîne courte. Cette invention permet d'obtenir un pigment d'alimentation de salmonidés plus stable et biologiquement plus efficace que l'astaxanthine libre, et des produits d'astaxanthine disponibles dans le commerce.
