An ink jet ink composition is provided which permits the printing of an image with both superior fastness and high optical density, for use in continuous ink jet printers. The ink comprises an aqueous liquid medium which contains acid carbon black having a volatile content within the range of 3.5 to 8% by weight of the total weight of the carbon black, and a water-soluble resin having a weight average molecular weight within the range of 5,000 to 25,000. The weight ratio of the acid carbon black to the water-soluble resin is within the range of 2:1 to 5:1. The ink further comprises a dispersed pigment having a maximum particle size less than 1 micron and a filtration ratio greater than or equal to 0.2 through a 1.2 micron filter.
Il s'agit d'une composition d'encre pour imprimante à jet d'encre continu qui permet l'impression d'images présentant à la fois une solidité supérieure et une densité optique élevée. L'encre est constituée d'une matrice liquide aqueuse renfermant, d'une part, un noir de carbone acide dont la teneur en substance volatiles équivaut à 3,8 à 8 % du poids total de noir de carbone et, d'autre part, une résine hydrosoluble dont le poids moléculaire pondéré se situe entre 5 000 et 25 000. Le rapport pondéral entre le noir de carbone acide et la résine hydrosoluble se situe entre 2/1 et 5/1. L'encre renferme en outre un pigment dispersé dont les particules mesurent moins de 1 micron et dont le coefficient d'épuration est égal ou supérieur à 0,2 à travers un filtre à mailles de 1,2 micron.
