1 PIGMENT EMBEDDING ABSTRACT The conventional process of creating art work paintings with wax crayon or oil pastel colours involves the depositing of pigment directly onto a naked working surface, be it paper, canvas, or other surface, without in any way preparing that surface for the deposit of that pigment. In the most general sense, this invention a process of creating art work paintings, departs from the conventional process in that the entire or portions of the working surface are completely impregnated with pigment, which pigment is then scraped, rubbed and added to by further application of pigment which then is shaped into the final painting. This procedure of pigment embedding has several distinct variations which give of varied results; such variations which will be described in the invention. The advantages of this invention are as follows: greater definition of line, the ability to easily surface mix pigments, coloration, ease of pigment colour gradation, ease of modification of the painting especially in the latter stages of the work, longevity of the final work where the entire working surface is embedded, application to any hot or cold press papers, and the ability to avoid the use of expensive toothed paper.
