Pigment preparation comprising (i) 10-80% by mass of a plateletlike support material coated with a metal oxide, and (ii) 20-60% by mass of an active pigment. The support material coated with the metal oxide is preferably a mica coated with titanium dioxide or iron oxide. The active pigment is preferably zinc phosphate, zinc borate, calcium metaphosphate, phthalocyanine or a material which binds hydroxide ions, such as silica gel, silicate, alumosilicate, calcite, metaphosphates or bi- or triphosphates.
