ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reinforced pre-cast concrete pile includes an intermediate cast-in plate 5' attached to cast-in reinforcements 3, 9, 9' of the pile. Following driving of a column of the piles, if the plate 5' of the uppermost pile is above a reference terrain level then the upwardly projecting part is cut off and that part severed at the lower face of its plate 5' and such upper half is re-used in a subsequent column of piles
