ABSTRACT In the case of pin-setting installations using pins attached to cables, the cables stretch after a certain length of operating time. In order to compensate for this, the cable-storage drums (6) are rotated, from time to time, to a small extent, in the winding-in direction, by a drive-mechanism. This is achieved by means of a double-gear coupling (36,40; 60,66). A belt-drive (22,23,24), communicating with the chain-drive, drives a gearwheel (44). The latter engages with a coupling gearwheel (36) only when an electro-magnet (48) moves a cam (40) attached to the coupling gearwheel, shifts the toothless sector (A) thereof, and brings the teeth into engagement. Shaft 38, rigidly connected to the coupling gearwheel, drives the cable-storage drum by means of a toothed segment, causing it to execute part of a revolution in the cable winding-in direction .
