ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel pinch valve is provided herein. The pinch valve first includes a hollow compressible tubular member. An annular rib is formed on the inner walls of that tubular member. The annular rib lies in a plane oblique to a plane passing through the radial cross- section of the tubular member, The tubular member permits passage of fluid therethrough when the tubular member is not deformed. Upon selec- tive deformation of the tube by choking means for selectively compressing the tubular member at a portion thereof where the annular rib is formed the annular rib prevents passage of fluid through the tube.
