The present invention relates to a pinch valve which closes the passage of the soft tube by pressing a slider, provided so as to advance into and retract from a housing against a part of the soft tube located within the housing. The slider is provided with a detachable engaging member. The engaging member engages with a part of the housing to position the slider so that the slider is not pressed against a normally closed soft tube. This provision is used to prevent the soft tube from plastic deformation and damage in a non operational condition of the valve.
