Methods and systems for extending the IMS/SIP architecture of the NGN to provide QoS service to generic bearer flows. More particularly, a method is provided for establishing an bearer end-to-end path of a communication session in a multi-domain communication network in which an out of band signalling protocol is used to establish communications sessions. The method comprises receiving an out-of-band signalling message including information representative of at least an opposite end point of a first bearer segment of the end-to-end path. The information is used to define a cross-connect mapping through a node of the network between respective local endpoints of the first bearer segment and a second bearer segment hosted by the node. Information representative of the cross-connect mapping is then inserted into the out-of-band signalling message, and the out-of-band signalling message forwarded.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes permettant d'étendre l'architecture IMS/SIP du réseau de génération suivante (NGN) afin de fournir un service QoS à des flux de porteuse générique. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'établir un trajet d'extrémité à extrémité de porteuse d'une session de communication dans un réseau de communication multidomaine dans lequel un protocole de signalisation hors bande est utilisé pour établir des sessions de communication. Ce procédé consiste à recevoir un message de signalisation hors bande comprenant des informations représentatives d'au moins un point d'extrémité opposé d'un premier segment de porteuse du trajet d'extrémité à extrémité. Ces informations sont utilisées pour définir une cartographie d'interconnexion via un noeud du réseau entre des points d'extrémité locaux respectifs du premier segment de porteuse et un second segment de porteuse hébergé par ce noeud. Des informations représentatives de la cartographie d'interconnexion sont ensuite introduites dans le message de signalisation hors bande, et ce message de signalisation hors bande est envoyé.
