ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pipe coupling with an insert connecting piece for the end of the pipe to be connected, the said connecting piece comprising an inner cone for the accommodation of a correspondingly shaped outer cone at one end (the pressing end) of a sealing sleeve pressed over the end of the pipe, the other end thereof (the cutting end) having another outer cone over which the correspondingly shaped inner cone of a locking ring engages, and at least one cutting edge arranged on the inner surface of the sealing sleeve and directed towards the outer wall of the pipe end. The inner surface of the outer cone of the pressing end is cylindrical, the conical angle of the cutting end being greater than that of the pressing end. The pipe coupling is designed so as to be easy to assemble, to provide reliable sealing and, in addition to be corrosion resistant. For this purpose, provision is made, according to the invention, for the conical angle of the end face of the cutting end to amount to about 70 to 140°, and for the wall thickness of the area of the sealing sleeve between the pressing end and the cutting end to be less than that of the adjoining areas, thus forming a spring acting axially.
