ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pipe cradle includes a rigid head-piece suspend- able from a lifting device and having front and rear pairs of laterally spaced cable retainers. A flexible cable is mounted on the retainers to provide front and rear pairs of laterally-extending, axially-spaced loops hanging downwardly from the head-piece. One loop of the front pair has oppo- site side portions extending over the respective front re- tainers to form respective opposite side portions of the other loop of the pair, and one loop of the rear pair has opposite side portions extending over the respective rear retainers to form respective opposite side portions of the other loop of the pair. Each retainer retains the cable on the head-piece while permitting movement of the cable in an axial direction to vary the size of the loops, and each loop carries rollers rotatably mounted thereon to support a pipe extending axially through the loops. The cable also includes a portion connecting a portion extending over a front retainer with a portion extending over a rear re- tainer to adjust the load on the loops when the head-piece is suspended from a lifting device with a pipe supported by the loops.
