Pipe cutting apparatus (2) in which a pipe is clamped in a holder (4) and cut transverse to its longitudinal axis by a cutting head 6. The cutting head (6) is supported on the holder (4) and is rotatable around the pipe to cut the pipe wall with a blade (38). The blade (38) is advanced radially by an indexing mechanism (40) in response to rotation of the cutting head (6) around the pipe. The indexing mechanism (40) has a snail cam (44) rotatable to advance the blade (38) in response to indexing movement of a ratchet (48) controlled by a pawl (50) mounted on the holder (2) to advance the ratchet (48) on completion of each revolution of the cutting head (6). The blade (38) is withdrawn when the pipe is cut and has a stop (60) that engages a cut-out (61) in the snail cam (44) to block indexing movement of the ratchet (48) and re-set the cutting head (6).
Appareil de coupe de tuyau (2) dans lequel un tuyau est serré dans un support (4) et coupé transversalement à son axe longitudinal par une tête de coupe (6). La tête de coupe (6) est portée par le support (4) et peut tourner autour du tuyau pour couper la paroi du tuyau avec une lame (38). Un mécanisme de commande (40) fait avancer radialement la lame (38) en réponse à la rotation de la tête de coupe (6) autour du tuyau. Le mécanisme de commande (40) comporte une came en colimaçon (44) que l'on peut faire tourner pour faire avancer la lame (38) en réponse au mouvement d'avancement d'un rochet (48) commandé par un cliquet (50) monté sur le support (4) pour faire avancer le rochet (48) à la fin de chaque tour de la tête de coupe (6). La lame (38) se retire quand le tuyau est coupé et comporte un taquet (60) qui engrène une échancrure (61) dans la came en colimaçon (44) pour bloquer le mouvement d'avancement du rochet (48) et ramener la tête de coupe (6) à sa position initiale.
