ABSTRACT PIPE SEAM WELDING APPARATUS Improved apparatus is provided for spreading the seam edges of formed large diameter pipe. The spreader apparatus comprises an extensible fluid powered actuator with rollers on its opposite ends for engagement with opposite sides of the pipe interior. The actuator is slidable in the direction of extension so as to be self-centering. The actuator may be a pair of cylinders attached back-to-back with a roller connected to each piston rod.
