ABSTRACT PIPELINE REPLACEMENT A method for replacing an existing pipeline, for example a cast iron water main, employs a mole 2 whose front end fractures the pipeline and carries into the pipeline a replacement pipeline 13. Within the replacement pipeline, suitably clamped between the mole and the replacement pipeline, is a flexible, impermeable liner to screen the replacement pipeline from contamination from the equipment employed.
