Cette invention porte sur une protéine piroplasmidique ou un fragment immunogène de cette protéine, ainsi que sur un acide nucléique codant ladite protéine piroplasmidique ou ledit fragment immunogène. Cette invention concerne également des fragments d'ADNc, des molécules d'ADN recombinant ainsi que des supports recombinants vivants comprenant cet acide nucléique. Cette invention concerne en outre des cellules hôtes comprenant lesdits fragments d'ADNc, lesdites molécules d'ADN recombinant ainsi que lesdits supports recombinants vivants. Cette invention concerne enfin des vaccins renfermant une protéine piroplasmidique ou un fragment immunogène de cette protéine, des procédés de préparation de ces vaccins, l'utilisation de ces protéines ou fragments à des fins vaccinales, ainsi que des tests diagnostiques.
