ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A piston structure for a pressure reducing valve in which a piston is formed on the side surface with an annular groove for disposing a piston ring therein. The piston is slidably inserted into a cylin- der along with the piston ring. A main valve is opera- tively opened and closed by regulating the operating pressure of the piston through a pilot valve that detects operatively the secondary pressure. The outer peripheral edge of the upper surface of the piston is located in the outer peripheral direction contained within an axial projection of point located on the inner surface of the annular groove to prevent the upper corner of the piston from colliding with the inner wall of the cylinder when the piston is inclined by fluid jetted from the main valve.
