A B S T R A C T In a dump truck the improvement of a hydraulic fluid storage tank disposed directly below a portion of the container body of the dump truck which is elevated during the dumping operation, the storage tank being pivotally mounted for movement with respect to the chassis of the dump truck between a position disposed below the container body when the container body is in the lowered position and the second position in which one end of the tank projects up- wardly into the space provided when the container body is elevated. A drainage passage is disposed at the end of the tank towards which the fluid is drained as a result of the movement of the tank to the elevated position. Spring means is provided for urging the storage tank towards the elevated position as the container body is elevated.
