ABSTRACT A gas actuator and a pop-up target and a door incorporating the gas actuator are disclosed. The gas actuator comprises support surfaces, pivoting surfaces pivotably coupled upon the support surfaces, respectively, and flexible and inflatable members disposed for pivoting the pivoting surfaces with respect to the support surfaces between a first and a second position. The members act over a relatively large area between the support surfaces and the pivoting surfaces. The magnitude of the pivoting force produced by the members increases to a maximum and thereafter decreases as the pivoting surface pivots upwards. An accumulator allows for relatively low flow rates of gas from a source of compressed gas and provides relatively high flow rates of compressed gas to the members.
