ABSTRACT For use in a modular scaffolding system, a pivoting composite connection for attaching two structural members together in hinged relationship. A male hinge section attaches to one of the structural members and has defined therein a generally cylindrically-shaped hinge pin bore which extends throughout the male hinge section. A female hinge section attaches to the other one of the two structural members and includes a pair of hinge flanges separated by a distance corresponding to the length of the hinge pin bore. A pivot sleeve is disposed in each flange opening so as to extend through the opening and into the bore. A generally cylindrically-shaped hinge pin is disposed in the interior of each pivot sleeve.
