The pivoting flare stack swing arm is characterized as follows, The flare stack pivots on the swing arm from a horizontal to a vertical position via use of mechanical advantage, to be locked in position, allowing the specified vertical height required for flaring. The unit is then designed to swing away from the structure to allow for defined distance required. Outriggers are then deployed to maximize stability of the flare stack. The flare stack is now secured to be put into service.
