The invention provides a pixel (10) having a light emitting surface (12), the pixel (10) containing at least a set of tristimulus colours in light emitting diodes (18, 20, 22, 24) embedded in a light scattering medium (13) which includes the light emitting surface (12) characterised in that the light emitting surface (12) is non-focusing. the invention also provides a video display screen constructed from a plurality of pixels (10) and apparatus for delivering power to the screen.
