This invention seeks to provide means by which a necrotic effect may be induced in specific cells of a plant. The plant is transformed with a chimaeric gene which encodes a pokeweed antiviral protein and a promoter which acts in response to a specific stimulus so as to facilitate expression of the pokeweed antiviral protein in specific cells of the plant.

La présente invention a pour but d'obtenir des moyens permettant d'induire un effet nécrotique dans des cellules spécifiques d'une plante. La plante est transformée à l'aide d'un gène chimère qui code une protéine antivirale de phytolaque et d'un promoteur agissant en réponse à un stimulus spécifique afin de faciliter l'expression de la protéine antivirale de phytolaque dans des cellules spécifiques de la plante.
