A plant feeder having a water reservoir and a water conduit connected to the reservoir at one end. The other end of the water conduit is adapted to be positioned adjacent the roots of a plant to be fed. The water conduit has a water permeable plug with water soluble plant food therein whereby water can percolate through the conduit from the reservoir to the roots dissolving plant food on its way, and air and insects are blocked from migrating to the roots. The method provides placing the other conduit end of the plant feeder of the invention below the roots of a recently transplanted plant, percolating water from the reservoir to the roots through water soluble plant food, and blocking the migration of air and insects to the roots through the conduit.

Cette invention concerne un fertilisateur pour plantes d'intérieur. Il est composé d'un réservoir d'eau et d'une canalisation raccordée à celui-ci. L'extrémité libre de la canalisation est conçue pour pouvoir être placée à proximité des racines de la plante à nourrir. La canalisation comporte un bouchon perméable à l'intérieur duquel on peut placer de l'engrais soluble qui sera entraîné vers les racines par l'eau percolant du réservoir, bouchon qui empêche les insectes et l'air de parvenir jusqu'aux racines. Dans une autre application, l'extrémité libre de la canalisation est placée sous les racines d'une plante nouvellement transplantée pour y acheminer de l'eau enrichi d'engrais au passage tout en bloquant l'air et les insectes susceptibles de migrer jusqu'aux racines.
