ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reactor for continuously preparing a two- component starch glue has cells adjacent one another in the direction of a geometrical axis of the reactor, the cells comprising an intermediate cell between first and second end cells, the cells each having a cylindrical inner wall with partitions between adjacent ones of the cells, each partition being provided with a limited passage open- ing. An inlet for a primary starch fraction and an inlet for a product for gelatinizing the primary starch fraction open into the first end cell, an inlet for a secondary starch fraction opens into the intermediate cell and an outlet for glue connects to the second end cell. A stirrer has a shaft rotatably parallel to and offset from the axis, with a stirring disc in each cell, each disc having cir- cumferential teeth, a baffle-plate is mounted in the inter- mediate cell, the first cell and any cell between the first cell and the intermediate cell being free of baffle-plates.
