ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a plant for producing metallic pellets from a salt-added magnesium or alloys thereof. The plant includes a furnace for melting the metal with a salt additive, a centrifugal pelletizer with a perforated bowl, and a cylindrical chamber for collecting the pellets formed from the molten metal when the latter is shot out through the perforations in said bowl. In accordance with the invention, a hopper is provided in the cyl- indrical chamber under the perforated bowl coaxially therewith. The hopper is adapted to divide the chamber into two concentric zones open from below, of which the zone established by the hop- per, is located centrally in the chamber and is adapted for col- lecting salvage of the pellet-formation process. The other annu- lar-shaped zone is located along the periphery of the chamber and is adapted for collecting the formed pellets. Each of the respec- tive zones are provided with a mechanism for salvage disposal and for pellet withdrawal, respectively.
