ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plant for producing power from solid fossil fuels, more specially bituminous coal, is made up of at least one block in which the solid fuels are changed into gas. The plant furthermore has a gas and a steam turbine for producing power from the gas, the gases being cleaned of dust and sulfur before running into the gas turbine. The boiler of the plant is a pressure-fired boiler in which firing takes place in the dry condition, that is without melting of ash.
