A plant gene construct is disclosed comprising a complete or partial DNA sequence coding for an ATHi gene product under the control of a promoter functional in plants. The promoter is preferably heterologous. Plant cells are transformed with such a plant gene construct, and plants comprising such cells have modified flowering properties. There is further described a process for modifying the flowering process in plants by transforming plants with a construct according to the invention.

Ce produit de recombinaison génique de végétal comporte une séquence d'ADN complète ou partielle codant pour un produit génique d'ATHi (séquence homéotique d'Arabidopsis thaliana)sous la régulation d'un promoteur à fonctionnalité à l'endroit de végétaux. Ce promoteur est, de préférence, hétérologue. Les cellules végétales sont transformées à l'aide de ce produit de recombinaison génique de végétal et des végétaux renfermant ces cellules font montre de caractéristiques modifiées de floraison. L'invention concerne également un procédé visant à la modification du processus de floraison de végétaux par transformation de ces végétaux au moyen d'un produit de recombinaison de l'invention.
